About Beaded Inspirations by SQ and the Artist:

                                          The Artist

My background includes a degree in Fashion

Merchandising/Marketing and almost 10 years

of experience in the retail fashion and accessory industry. I have previously run a small jewelry/accessory boutique in Eau Claire,

Wisconsin.

I have also held numerous management positions for other retail stores, including one in

southern California. I left retail in 1990 to pursuit a Monday through Friday work schedule and entered the exciting world of human resources.  A large area of responsibility I had in my HR positions was in the area of recruiting. I loved it because I was still technically selling, justa much bigger product, the company. I got my PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification in 2005 and continued my career in HR full time until June of 2008. Now I am taking advantaage of an opportunity I have away from corporate america and and doing something that doesn't really feel like work.

So where do the beads come in?  I have

always been interested in fashion, jewelry,

anything artistic and having the satisfaction

of making something I was proud enough of  to

give as a gift. I started beading because it was

something I could do that would give me an outletto be creative, it was something new, and it didn'ttake as long as making a quilt. A few beads becamea few necklaces, bracelets and earrings, and one class turned into two and pretty soon I had a shoebox full of jewelry and no idea what I was going to do with it. I started showing it to friends, who became

customers and because of them word of mouth expanded my customer base and then I started

researching craft shows. I did my first show December 1st 2007 at about the same time I started building this site. Beaded Inspirations by SQ was formally established in November of 2007.

Today I have a studio in my home for my

jewelry making and an office set up for the

"other" side of things.  I am designing and

creating every chance I get and continually

reading and researching new products and

techniques as well as business how to's and

places to market/sell my pieces. I continue to learn not only about designing something

pretty, but creating something of quality thatwill last for more than one fashion season. I subscribe to a couple  fashion journals which I love to read to stay abreast of the trends and colors so I can work at incorporating what's new into my designs.

I am truly  excited to be taking this journey, not only for myself but for anyone that looks for outstanding customer service, innovative and unique products and a guarantee to delight!
